Set amongst the history and beauty of the stunning Queenstown-Arrowtown backdrop, Bendemeer captures all that is unique about alpine New Zealand. Natural materials, contemporary detailing, durability and generous spaces characterise homes at Bendemeer, creating an environment that’s as restful as it is powerful.
Of the total 110 hectares, 49 hectares are available for the shared use of all property owners. This area is landscaped to take the advantage of the surrounding natural beauty.
No. 8 Morrison House, the first house on the site, takes its cues from the forms and materials explored at the Woolshed and Pavilion. The 590m2 family house is separated into five stand-alone stone and timber ‘sheds’ grouped around a walled entry courtyard. Each unit features a 45 degree gabled roof in the manner of Miles Warren’s quintessential Canterbury houses of the 1960s. The separate components allow the house to remain legible in the landscape, while scaling itself to suit its occupants – either intimate for a couple or expanding to suit a wider group when required.
