Chapman Tripp describes itself as ‘New Zealand’s pre-eminent law firm’. Following the successful fit-out of the firm’s Wellington office, it wanted to achieve a similar result in Auckland, setting as its objective the creation of a home for doing business. The idea was that this ‘home’ would reflect both a sense of place within Auckland and a connection to the city and its landscape. The opportunity came with the refurbishment of the firm’s Auckland premises, 5,500m2 spread across five and a half floors of the ANZ tower, in Auckland’s CBD.
The fit-out employed a carefully chosen mix of materials to reflect New Zealand’s natural environment and create an interplay between its unique mixture of brutal and delicate textures.
The newly-refurbished workspace was an immediate success, providing a platform that fosters individuality within a collaborative, effective and flexible environment. As part of the project, a number of sustainability initiatives were undertaken to tackle paper management, and encourage sustainable products and energy savings.
