John Coop

John Coop became a Principal and Shareholder in 2001 after spending three years working in London with Wilkinson Eyre Architects.  He was appointed a Director of Warren and Mahoney in 2002.

John’s design approach is based on an analysis of the spatial potential of a project’s brief, its commercial objectives, and the sensitivity of its physical and environmental context.  He then balances this with a strong desire to unlock the project’s poetic potential.

John brings a client-centric approach to his work, leading and directing project teams, ensuring that the strategic direction perfectly meets the client’s brief.  With a wealth of experience in commercial and public sector master planning, he is a highly accomplished client relationship manager.

John is a regular contributor to NZIA and university educational programmes.  He also lectures throughout NZ as a core member of the NZIA Graduate Development Programme.
