Ian Adamson

To refine our built environment, we must first understand context.

Principal and Executive Director,
Queenstown

Ian Adamson

Ian Adamson has been with Warren and Mahoney for more than 12 years.  He has been a Principal and Shareholder since 2001, and in 2009 he was appointed a Director.

Over recent years, Ian has acquired a reputation for his successful hotel, hospitality and multi-unit accommodation projects.  However, his considerable skills are relevant to all areas of the practice’s work.

Ian believes his own success is due, in part, to the strong relationships he builds with his clients.  In particular, he believes in ensuring that clients fully understand the way in which the architect’s ideas respond to the client’s brief.

Aside from creating designs that meet the client’s brief, Ian believes strongly that buildings should be truthful and sympathetic to their surroundings.  He has a special affinity with the Queenstown and Central Otago region where buildings need to respond to the extreme climatic conditions.
