Andrew became a Director and Shareholder of Warren and Mahoney in 1998. With more than 20 years experience, plus an award-winning design talent and a depth of experience in marketing and business management. Andrew directs several design teams at one time across the practice.
Andrew’s design philosophy is centred on establishing key insights into the client brief, the site and the context. His work, whether in the tertiary education, sport and recreation, community, commercial office or in residential sector, is always concerned with simplification of form and avoidance of unnecessary detail. His work strongly echoes Warren and Mahoney’s core belief that successful architecture derives from a clear understanding of the client’s strategic objectives and that a central part of the architect’s responsibility is to improve lives and businesses through better and more effective environments.
Andrew has a nationwide role in the strategic and design areas of Warren and Mahoney’s practice. His view that Warren and Mahoney’s platform of design excellence over a sustained period of almost 60 years is now evolving into a focussed ‘client collaboration-business partner’ role is shared by the other practice directors. His work (and the work of the practice as a whole), is now concerned with the full integration of client strategy, architecture, structure, environment and business - it is only through integrating all of these themes the best architecture can be really achieved.
